Putin's only goal is to rob the American people, both poor and rich. Until now, Putin has achieved most of his goals in his strategy to make the US a region of Russia - thanks to the pro-Putin Republicans.

But democrats also have a hard time understanding how Republican voters can accept that prices are going up more and more. Read this example of a Republican voter who has all the reasons to listen carefully to Kevin France, but probably never will:

Trump also seems to think tariffs are a great way to get money from these foreign countries. This just demonstrates that he and his supporters don’t grasp how tariffs work.

If widgets made in China are subject to a 25% tariff, CHINA doesn’t pay anything at all. The AMERICAN COMPANIES importing widgets from China have to pay that 25% tax…which, of course, they pass on to their customers as a price increase.

Meaning, if you want to buy a widget, they’ll be more expensive now.

In addition, some of the proposed tariffs are counterproductive given other stated policy goals of His Orangeness.

For example, Trump’s stated plan for reducing housing costs in the US is to build more housing. But putting a tariff on lumber from Canada will make lumber more expensive, which will drive up construction prices.

Additionally, the draconian treatment of immigrants will reduce the construction labor force. So houses will be built more slowly, from more expensive materials…and that’s supposedly a recipe for cheaper housing?

Are republicans mentally incapable of understanding this? Are they being deliberately obtuse about this subject?"

It is common sense that Americans can't do what Trump says is making them all richer. One example is, of course, the farmers. Only Mexicans work cheaply, but now there are no Mexicans left to work for the farmers. But the same goes for all other jobs that Trump is "promoting", like coal miners and steelworkers. They will all be out of work - because no one can afford to pay their salaries. There will be an extra cost that makes it impossible to export, or even for Americans to pay for.

There is a reason Biden succeeded so well in strengthening the American economy. He exported what Americans do best and imported what Americans can not do at competitive costs. This is what all countries do except for Trump, who only has one goal: to weaken the US, allowing Putin to take over the US totally.

There is no doubt that Trump more or less lies about everything. So why do the Republicans still hope it is not all lies?

His big lies are so obvious that they think some of it must come through. But they will never do. His goals are the opposite of what he tells the voters.
